MARC O´TOOL
[electribe | mauritius]
Born and raised in Essen - Germany, producer and DJ Marc O`Tool (29) is handled as one of Germany’s most talented and uprising progressive pioneers. Marco has been influencing the electronic musicscene from the early age of 20 years. His first records, which have been produced only with a very minimal homestudio, already gained support from top-dj´s such as Westbam and were a main part of the early days of House and Techno. His first years in business of course were more fun than business, but Marco more and more wanted to become a major part of the electronic music scene. Just producing tracks wasn´t satisfying enough for him, so he also used to run a very popular clubevent where he already brought dj´s like Laurent Garnier or Robert Hood over to germany to present underground music to an open-minded audience.
To date, among various outputs on his own label Underworld Recordings and his fresh imprint Mauritius, Marco used to publish his sound on nationally and internationally renowned labels like Hooj Choons, Maelstrom, Superfly Records, Spot On and Poison Recordings, having his outputs supported by almost every relevant top-level DJ without seing any boarders of style.
Marco has currently signed up with mutekki´s fresh side-imprint ELECTRIBE, which has recently released his promising doubletracker “Black`n`white” / ”Lexicon Legend”, which has already gained heavy support by tops such as Tall Paul, Sonique, Moguai, Graham Gold and Oliver Klein. Never change a winning team, so his follow-up single will of course again be on ELECTRIBE, and again be a double a-side entitled “logical” / “jack” – set for release early summer 2003.
Among his successful Marc O´Tool-outputs, his most important projects to date are Ballroom (remember his own redesigned mix of “Passenger” on Hooj Choons) and Motorcraft on Seb Fontaine´s imprint Spot On.
Marco is also equally requested and well-known for his remix works and has put his spell on records such as DJ Tiesto´s “Urban Train”, which entered the UK sales-charts at 20 or Tall Paul vs. INXS “Precious Heart” because of rising requests, Marco had almost no chance not to introduce himself to his audience as an “artist to touch”. His DJ-popularity is increasing from day to day and so he spices up the most en-vogue clubs and festivals in germany as well as headlining diverse international events.
There is no doubt that this workaholic is definitely someone to keep an eye on, so be prepared...
